Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Pitch Notes.
- Accumulator
- A single bet that links two or more selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, and winnings grow with each added selection.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap given to a team to level the match, often with half‑ or quarter‑goal increments, reducing the chance of a draw.
- Banker
- A selection that is considered highly likely to win; often used as a secure leg in accumulators or system bets.
- Bet Builder
- A tool that allows you to create a custom bet by combining different markets from the same match, such as goals, cards, and corners.
- Bet Insurance
- A promotion that refunds your stake (or a portion of it) if a specific selection loses, usually as a free bet.
- Bet Slip
- The digital record that lists your selected bets, stake amount, potential payout, and any applied promotions.
- Both Teams To Score
- A market where you win if each side scores at least one goal during the match, regardless of the final result.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss based on current odds.
- Correct Score
- A bet that predicts the exact final score of a match, such as 2‑1 or 3‑0.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win/draw, away win/draw, or win for either side) in one wager.
- Draw No Bet
- A wager that removes the draw outcome; you win if your chosen team wins, and you get your stake back if the match ends in a draw.
- Free Bet
- A no‑cost bet credited to your account that you can use to place a wager; any winnings are usually returned without the free‑bet stake.
- Half-Time/Full-Time
- A bet that asks you to predict both the score at halftime and the final result, such as “Home/Home” or “Draw/Away”.
- In-Play
- Refers to betting on a match while it is already in progress, with odds that change as the game unfolds.
- Juice
- The extra percentage added to the true odds that gives the bookmaker a built‑in profit on every wager.
- Odds
- The number that tells you how much you can win relative to your stake; higher odds mean a bigger potential payout.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals (or points) in a match will be more or less than a set line.
- Parlay
- A bet that combines multiple selections into one wager; all selections must win for a payout, and odds are multiplied together.
- Payout
- The total amount of money you receive when a bet wins, including your original stake plus profit.
- Pre-Match
- Betting on a match before it starts, using odds that are set based on pre‑game analysis.
- Price Boost
- A promotion that increases the odds on a specific selection, giving you a higher potential payout for the same stake.
- Stake
- The amount of money you put on a bet; it determines the size of your potential winnings.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered by the bookmaker are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an expected positive return over time.
- Wagering Requirement
- The number of times you must bet a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings derived from it.
- Welcome Bonus
- A promotional offer for new customers, often a matched deposit or free bets, subject to terms and wagering conditions.
